Coach Garrett Shaffer enters his 1st year with the East Coast Sox Organization.

Coach Shaffer not only is dedicated to helping players reach the next level in baseball, but he also makes sure that they are becoming mature, responsible, and Godly men at the same time. His passion and love for the game is truly remarkable and is shown through sharing his knowledge with others on and off the field. Shaffer builds a culture with all the teams and it shows when you see his team that is more like a family. By doing this, he allows his players and parents to be in a comfortable environment that makes it almost impossible to get away from.

Garrett Shaffer graduated from Lake Cormorant High School in 2015 where he saw playoffs in Varsity both years.Through his 2 years of Varsity baseball he posted a Career ERA of a 2.78 over 27.2 IP while posting 28K with an Opponent BA of just a .175.

Because of this success he continued his baseball career at Williams Baptist University from 2015-2019, receiving a B.A. in Health & Physical Education.

In Summer of 2021, Garrett Shaffer returned to Williams Baptist University as the Pitching Coach. He served as the pitching coach for the 2022 & 2023 seasons. During the Spring of 2022, the Eagles broke numerous records: Strikeouts (402), Opponent BA (.283), OBP (.414), Slugging (.434), SB (123), & HR (31).

Currently, Garrett Shaffer is the assistant baseball, football, and basketball coach at Newport High School located in Newport, AR.

Garrett Shaffer is married to Marisa Shaffer (3 years) and they have 2 dogs (Charlie and Hendricks) as well as 2 cats (Jasper and Savage). They currently reside in Newark, AR.
