Coach Andy Runyan is returning for his 2nd season coaching with the East Coast Sox.

Coach Runyan had a banner first year in the summer of 2025, winning 3 of the 5 tournaments he entered.  From his team, he repeatedly sent players to the Sox national program where they made significant contributions to the program.

Andy Runyan lives in Paragould, AR and has coached in the state since 2003 at all levels of the game. His father, Pip, was an Arkansas baseball coaching legend, with his 1990 Little Rock Mills state championship team finishing ranked 23rd in the nation and Coach Runyan being named state and regional coach of the year.

As a player, Andy was an all state catcher at Mills High on their state championship team in 1999 that finished ranked 11th in the nation. In college, he caught at Mizzou (2001) and Arkansas State (2002-2005), while playing summer ball in the California Collegiate Baseball League for the Salinas Packers.

As a coach, Runyan’s stops have included Paragould American Legion, Cabot High School & Legion, Lakeside High School & Legion, and youth baseball in Northeast AR.

His 2021 Cal Ripken Regional Championship team was the first in the history of Paragould Youth Baseball.

In 2023 and 2024, Runyan led the Greene County Tech Junior High program to 40+ wins over two seasons, including a tournament championship at Field of Dreams in Dyersville, IA in 2023.

Coach Runyan led his first Sox team in 2025, coaching East Coast Sox 2028 IPIV:X. The team finished the season 15-3-1, winning two tournament championships.

He has been married to his wife Sarah for 19 years and they have 3 children (Derek, Jase, and Pippa).
